Ocugen, Bharat Biotech’’s American partner for Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin, has submitted a “Master File” to the US Food and Drug Administration prior to seeking an emergency use authorisation in that country. “The company is currently evaluating the clinical and regulatory path for Covaxin in the US, including obtaining Emergency Use Authorisation (EUA) from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Also, eventually biologic licence application (BLA) approval in the US, as well as the company’s commercialisation strategy, if authorised or approved,” Ocugen has said in a recent regulatory filing.

The Cabinet, on Tuesday granted approval to various Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) inked by the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICoAl) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) with various international organisations. This was an ex-post-facto approval.
“The various MoUs seek to facilitate mutual recognition of qualifications and range of collaborative activities for exchange of knowledge, experience sharing, and technical cooperation by way of participation in annual conferences, training programmes or workshops besides seminars and joint research projects etc., relevant to their jurisdiction,” said an official statement.

A police officer will appear in court on Monday on charges of attempted murder, intimidation and driving a state vehicle without consent while another will appear on charges of dealing in drugs.
Western Cape police spokesperson Brig Novela Potelwa said the two officers were expected to appear in the Blue Downs and Goodwood courts respectively following their arrests.
“A 26-year-old constable based at Kleinvlei police station was arrested on Friday for allegedly shooting and injuring a woman in 2020, driving a state vehicle without consent as well as intimidation of a police officer.
